Will I go to Jail?

In your standard DUI, the officer has the option of giving you a ticket and releasing you, or arresting you. If this is your first DUI you will likely be released on your own recognizance, or on a low bail. If you have been charged with DUI with Injury, you will likely be held on a felony bail that will be in the tens of thousands of dollars. You will likely want to contact a bail bondsman. If you are convicted, there are often alternatives available to jail, such as a work alternative, or a period of house arrest that allows you to leave your house to go to work and to complete your drinking driver classes. We will work with you and the courts to find a jail alternative, and to help you make the arrangements.
